Interisk Corporation began in 1978. The Interisk Organization was formed in 1992, along with Interisk Limited, when James A. Robertson, CPCU, ARM and Lawton Swan III, CPCU, CLU combined their extensive resources and talent to provide insurance consulting, risk management, and insurance litigation consulting services. Stanley L. Lipshultz, JD, CPCU, joined the Interisk team in 1998. James A. Robertson is based in the California office, Lawton Swan III in Florida, and Stanley Lipshultz in Maryland.
All of our offices work together to enhance the range and quality of services we can provide to clients. The Interisk Organization has a combined total of six professionals and four support staff. This provides enough depth to handle the normal scope, size and complexity of consulting and litigation engagements, but the offices are small enough to assure that each client will receive personalized attention to their consulting needs.
We provides a full range of risk management consulting services for corporations, associations or groups, public agencies and other organizations. Interisk also provides expert witness services for litigators handling insurance coverage issues; suits involving insurance agents' and brokers' professional responsibilities, duties or errors and omissions; suits over claim adjusting practices; and other litigation engagements on insurance industry customs and practices. Interisk's principals have served hundreds of clients as consultants. They also have served as expert witnesses in over 200 cases, making us one of the most experienced litigation consulting firms in the United States.
No outside firm owns or has made any investment in the Interisk Organization, nor does the Organization or its principals own any other service firms or have interests in any brokerage firms. Interisk is free of all potential conflicts of interest in order to offer complete loyalty to its clients. Since revenues are derived entirely from client fees, consultants are free from any financial bias and can objectively evaluate all matters on which Interisk consults.
Interisk's skilled consultants have diverse backgrounds and experience, encompassing all of the major disciplines of the property-casualty insurance industry. Engagements for past clients have included detailed evaluations of virtually all known risk financing options and every type of property, casualty, liability, and benefits policies. Expert witness engagements also have covered most types of property and casualty coverages, including environmental litigation, all types of industry rating plans, and include cases involving life and disability insurance issues.
The combined skills and experience of all Interisk professionals help to provide services tailored to each client's unique needs and budget. The firm's unique team approach allows each task to be completed by the staff member best able to provide a balance of expertise, experience and economy for the client. The depth of experience of the staff also assures that each client project receives adequate peer review, as a final "reality check."
To be sure that all consultants stay current, Interisk subscribes to an extensive selection of ongoing literature and periodicals. Interisk also actively encourages and supports continuing education for all of its employees. Each of the principals and consultants has achieved one or more professional designations and continues to develop through formal and informal educational opportunities. Mr. Robertson is a member of the Society of Risk Management Consultants (SRMC) and a former officer of the CPCU Society. Mr. Swan is a past president of CPCU. Both have published extensively on insurance and risk management.
